Machine Lying Banded T-Bar Row

The chest-supported T-bar row with a band looped from the lever to the frame; the band adds load as the lever rises, so the top of the row is the hardest part.

How to do it

Setup

Chest on the machine's pad, feet on the rests, a band looped from the lever to the base, handles gripped below.

Steps

  1. Row the handles up, elbows along the body.
  2. Hold the squeeze at the top, where the band pulls hardest.
  3. Lower slowly against the band.

Common mistakes

Rushing through the top: the band makes it the hardest point; pause there. Band slipping on the lever: check the loop before every set. Chest leaving the pad to finish: lighter plates or a lighter band.

Breathing

Exhale on the row, inhale lowering.
