Machine Angled Leg Press

The angled leg press on a plate-loaded lever: the foot plate swings on an arc instead of sliding on rails.

How to do it

Setup

Reclined on the seat, back flat, feet shoulder-width mid-plate.

Steps

  1. Release the lever and lower the plate toward the chest.
  2. Keep the hips and back on the pad.
  3. Press the plate up along its arc.

Common mistakes

Feet low on the plate: the heels rise as the arc closes; set them higher. Hips rolling off the seat at depth: shorten the range. Letting the plate crash down: lower it slowly.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale pressing.
