Lying Single-Leg Raise
Lying on the back, raise one straight leg at a time while the other stays long on the floor; half the load of the double leg raise.
How to do it
Setup
On the back, arms by the sides, both legs long on the floor.
Steps
- Raise one straight leg toward vertical.
- Keep the other leg pressed long into the floor.
- Lower it slowly; finish the set, then switch legs.
Common mistakes
Resting leg lifting off the floor: press it down; it anchors the pelvis. Kicking the leg up: raise it slowly all the way. Hips rocking toward the working side: keep them square.
Breathing
Exhale on each lift, inhale lowering.
