Lying Simultaneous Alternating Leg Raise

On the back, switch the legs in one move: one knee draws up over the hip as the other leg stretches out long.

How to do it

Setup

On the back, arms by the sides, one knee bent over the hip, the other leg long and hovering.

Steps

  1. Draw the long leg in as the bent one stretches out, both at once.
  2. Keep the lower back pressed down through each switch.
  3. Keep switching at a steady pace.

Common mistakes

Moving one leg and then the other: the switch happens at the same moment. Heel of the long leg touching down: it hovers. Lower back lifting as a leg straightens: keep that leg higher.

Breathing

Exhale on each switch, steady in between.
