Lying Alternate Toe Touch Floor

On the back with the legs in a tabletop, lower one foot at a time to touch the toes to the floor and lift it back, the lower back held down.

How to do it

Setup

On the back, arms by the sides, knees over the hips and bent at right angles, shins level with the floor.

Steps

  1. Lower one foot to tap the toes on the floor, the knee keeping its bend.
  2. Lift it back to the tabletop.
  3. Tap with the other foot and keep alternating.

Common mistakes

Lower back arching as the foot drops: press it into the floor before each tap. Letting the foot land heavily: a light touch, then straight back up. Opening the knee angle to reach: keep the bend; the hip does the moving.

Breathing

Exhale on each tap.
