Lying Floor Slide

The wall angel done lying on the back: the arms, bent at right angles on the floor, slide overhead and back down without lifting off it.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on the back, knees bent, feet flat, arms on the floor bent at right angles, elbows at shoulder height.

Steps

  1. Slide the arms overhead along the floor as far as they stay down.
  2. Keep the lower back resting on the floor.
  3. Slide them back down until the elbows reach the ribs.

Common mistakes

Wrists or elbows lifting off the floor: stop the slide where they would. Lower back arching as the arms go up: ribs down, back flat. Forcing the range: move only as far as the shoulders allow.

Breathing

Exhale sliding up, inhale coming down.
