Hands Bike
Seated at an arm crank, turn the handles in circles like pedals; cardio for the upper body while the legs rest.
How to do it
Setup
Seated facing the crank, its axle at shoulder height, a handle in each hand.
Steps
- Turn the handles in smooth full circles.
- Reach until the elbow almost straightens, then pull back toward the ribs.
- Keep the back upright and the shoulders down; log the time.
Common mistakes
Shoulders creeping up to the ears: keep them down and the neck long. Rocking the torso to turn the crank: the arms do the work; lower the resistance. Crank set too high or too low: axle level with the shoulders.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
