Lying Bent-Knee Tibialis Press

The shin raise lying on the back, knees bent and heels on the floor, with nothing to balance.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on the back, knees bent, heels a little in front of the knees, arms at the sides.

Steps

  1. Pull the toes up off the floor, heels staying down.
  2. Hold the lifted position for a beat.
  3. Let the toes back down under control.

Common mistakes

Heels sliding toward the hips: keep them where they started. Lifting only the big toes: the whole forefoot comes up. Racing the reps: slow lifts, slower lowering.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
