Lunge Push-Up

From a high plank, step one foot up beside the hand into a lunge, step it back, then do a push-up; sides alternate.

How to do it

Setup

Hands under the shoulders in a high plank, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Step one foot up outside its hand.
  2. Step back to the plank and lower the chest.
  3. Press up and repeat with the other foot.

Common mistakes

Hips piking as the foot comes forward: keep them low and level. Foot landing short of the hand: bring it all the way up. Sagging through the push-up: brace so the body moves in one line.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale pressing.
