Lateral Band Walk, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Band around the knees or ankles, half-squat, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Step sideways keeping tension in the band.
  2. The trailing foot follows without touching the lead one.
  3. Walk one way, then back; stay low throughout.

Common mistakes

Standing up between steps: the half-squat holds. Feet snapping together: tension dies; keep the gap. Knees caving inward: the band wants it; push out.

Breathing

Steady with the steps.
