Standing Single-Leg Front Back Side to Side Toe Tap
Standing tall on one leg, tap the free toes forward, back and out to each side in turn; a balance drill for the standing hip.
How to do it
Setup
Standing on one leg, hands on the hips, the free foot just off the floor.
Steps
- Tap the free toes forward, then back.
- Tap out to the side and across, the standing leg still.
- Keep the pelvis level; switch legs after the set.
Common mistakes
Hip of the standing leg jutting out: stack it under the torso. Leaning the torso with each tap: stay tall. Resting the tapping foot: touch and lift again.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
