Side Plank Clamshell
A short side plank on the forearm and knees, hips lifted, with the top knee opening and closing like a clamshell.
How to do it
Setup
On one forearm, elbow under the shoulder, knees bent and stacked, hips lifted so the body is straight from knees to head.
Steps
- Open the top knee while the feet stay together.
- Close it slowly without the hips sagging.
- Finish the set, then switch sides.
Common mistakes
Hips sinking toward the floor: lift them back into line. Top hip rolling back as the knee opens: keep the hips stacked. Shoulder collapsing over the elbow: push the floor away.
Breathing
Exhale opening, inhale closing.
