Kettlebell Lateral Raise

The lateral raise with a kettlebell in each hand, the bells hanging under the handles all the way up.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, feet hip-width, a kettlebell by the handle in each hand at the sides.

Steps

  1. Raise both kettlebells out to the sides to shoulder height.
  2. Keep the wrists straight so the bells hang still.
  3. Lower them to the sides slowly.

Common mistakes

Bells swinging on the handles: slow the raise until they hang still. Hiking the shoulders as the bells rise: blades down, neck long. Leaning back to get the bells up: lighter bells, quiet trunk.

Breathing

Exhale opening the arms, inhale lowering.
