Kettlebell Seated Lateral Raise

The kettlebell lateral raise seated on a bench with an upright back rest; the seat and the pad take the hips and the trunk out of the lift.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on a bench with the back against an upright pad, a kettlebell in each hand beside the seat.

Steps

  1. Lift the kettlebells sideways to shoulder height.
  2. Keep the back on the pad and the bells hanging still.
  3. Lower them beside the seat under control.

Common mistakes

Rocking off the pad to start the rep: the back stays on it. Bells swinging below the hands: slow the lift. Setting the bells down between reps: stop short of the floor and go again.

Breathing

Exhale opening the arms, inhale lowering.
