Lying Around the World
Face down on the floor, straight arms hover just above it and sweep from the hips out through the sides to overhead and back; the upper back holds them up the whole way.
How to do it
Setup
Lying face down, legs long, chest down, forehead just off the floor, arms straight with the hands by the hips.
Steps
- Lift the arms off the floor and sweep them out to the sides.
- Carry them on until they reach overhead, still hovering.
- Sweep them back down to the hips along the same arc.
Common mistakes
Arms dropping to the floor midway: keep them hovering the whole arc. Lifting the chest and legs into a superman: only the arms rise; the rest stays down. Shrugging toward the ears as the arms pass overhead: draw the shoulder blades down.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
