Kettlebell Halo

Hold the bell upside down at chest level and draw slow circles around the head, alternating directions; ribs stay down.

Kettlebell Halo, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Bell held upside down by the horns at chest level, elbows in.

Steps

  1. Draw a slow circle around the head with the bell.
  2. Keep it close to the skull's orbit, ribs down.
  3. Alternate directions between reps.

Common mistakes

Wide loose orbits: close and controlled is the mobility work. Ribs flaring as it passes behind: brace stays. Speed: the halo is a slow drill by definition.

Breathing

Steady with the circle.
