Medicine Ball Around Head Rotation
The halo with a medicine ball held in both hands; the ball is wider than a bell, so the circle is bigger and the palms squeeze it the whole way round.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, feet hip-width, the ball held in both hands at the chest.
Steps
- Circle the ball around the head, just clearing the hair.
- Keep the elbows bent and the ribs down behind the head.
- Change direction every circle or halfway through the set.
Common mistakes
Leaning to let the ball past: the head and trunk stay still; the arms do the circling. Ball swinging wide: keep it close to the head. Loosening the squeeze behind the head: press the palms into the ball all the way round.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
