The independent-lever row from a low angle, pulling toward the waist.

Iso-Lateral Low Row, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Set in the machine, handles low, chest supported.

Steps

  1. Pull toward the waist, elbows tight.
  2. Squeeze at the hip line.
  3. Return long, one side never outracing the other.

Common mistakes

Pulling high: the LOW line aims at the lower lats; to the waist. Shoulders shrugging: blades down first. Jerked starts: smooth from the stretch.

Breathing

Exhale on the row, inhale returning.
