Iron Cross Stretch

On your back with the arms out in a T, one straight leg swings across the body toward the opposite hand and back, the shoulders staying down.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on your back, legs straight, arms out to the sides at shoulder height, palms down.

Steps

  1. Lift one straight leg up toward the ceiling.
  2. Lower it across the body toward the opposite hand.
  3. Bring it back through the middle; alternate legs.

Common mistakes

Shoulders lifting as the leg crosses: keep them flat and let the leg go only that far. Dropping the leg with a swing: lower it under control. Knee bending deeply: a slight bend for tight hamstrings is fine; keep the leg long.

Breathing

Exhale as the leg crosses, inhale back to the middle.
