Hip Roll Plank
In a forearm plank, roll the hips from side to side until one hip nearly touches the floor; the obliques do the turning.
How to do it
Setup
Forearm plank, elbows under the shoulders, feet together on the toes.
Steps
- Roll the hips to one side, toward the floor.
- Come back through the middle without sagging.
- Roll to the other side and keep alternating.
Common mistakes
Shoulders twisting with the hips: the chest stays square over the elbows. Dropping the hip onto the floor: a light touch at most. Swinging fast: turn slowly and under control.
Breathing
Exhale on each roll, inhale through the middle.
