Front Plank with Twist
From a straight-arm plank, turn onto one hand into a side plank with the top arm reaching up, then back and to the other side.
How to do it
Setup
High plank, hands under the shoulders, feet hip-width, body in one line.
Steps
- Shift onto one hand and turn the body into a side plank, the free arm reaching to the ceiling.
- Pause with the hips lifted and the arm stacked over the shoulder.
- Turn back to the plank and repeat to the other side.
Common mistakes
Hips dropping in the turn: the whole body turns as one piece. Support hand drifting from under the shoulder: set it before you turn. Rushing from side to side: pause in each side plank.
Breathing
Exhale into each turn, inhale in the plank.
