Hanging Knees to Elbows

Hanging from a bar, draw the knees up past the chest until they touch the elbows, the pelvis curling all the way.

How to do it

Setup

Dead hang from a bar, hands shoulder-width, arms straight, legs together.

Steps

  1. Pull the knees up and in, rolling the pelvis toward the chest.
  2. Touch the knees to the elbows, the lats pressing the bar down.
  3. Lower the legs under control to a still hang.

Common mistakes

Stopping at hip height: that is the knee raise; the knees go on to the elbows. Swinging into the next rep: pause in a still hang first. Bending the arms to meet the knees: arms stay long; the hips travel.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
