Flexion Leg Sit-Up (Bent Knee)

From lying flat, sit up as one straight leg rises and the bent knee draws in, the arms reaching forward at about 45°.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on the back, one knee bent with the foot flat, the other leg long on the floor, arms overhead.

Steps

  1. Sit up as the long leg rises straight and the bent knee draws in.
  2. Reach the arms forward at about 45°, past the knee.
  3. Roll back down under control; switch legs between sets.

Common mistakes

Throwing the arms to get up: the abs lift the chest; the arms only reach. Rising leg bending on the way up: keep it straight; it rises with the torso. Dropping flat at the bottom: roll down under control.

Breathing

Exhale sitting up, inhale rolling down.
