Glute-Ham Developer Straight Arms Sit-Up

The glute-ham developer sit-up taken back only to level, the arms locked overhead in line with the torso for a longer lever.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the glute-ham developer, feet locked under the rollers, legs straight, arms straight overhead.

Steps

  1. Lean back until the torso and arms are level with the floor.
  2. Sit up to vertical, the arms staying by the ears.
  3. Pause upright, then lean back again to level.

Common mistakes

Dropping below level: stop where the body is flat; the range is the variant. Arms swinging forward to start the rise: they stay overhead the whole rep. Arching the lower back at the bottom: brace the abs before each descent.

Breathing

Inhale leaning back, exhale sitting up.
