EZ-Bar Standing Upright Row

The upright row with an EZ-bar; its angled grips let the wrists turn slightly in, which suits wrists a straight bar bothers.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, EZ-bar at the thighs, hands on the outer angled grips, overhand.

Steps

  1. Pull the bar up close to the body, elbows leading.
  2. Stop at chest height, elbows level with the shoulders.
  3. Lower along the body under control.

Common mistakes

Hands on the inner bends: the narrow grip crowds the shoulders; use the outer ones. Bar swinging away from the body: keep it close to the torso. Rocking the hips to start: stand still; lighter bar.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale lowering.
