Cable Lying Upright Row (EZ-Bar)
The lying cable upright row with an EZ-bar attachment, whose angled grips turn the wrists slightly in and ease them.
How to do it
Setup
Lying face up, feet toward a low pulley, the EZ attachment on the thighs, hands on its outer angled grips.
Steps
- Pull the bar up along the torso, elbows out.
- Hold for a beat with the elbows at shoulder level.
- Return the bar to the thighs slowly.
Common mistakes
Body sliding toward the pulley: brace the feet or move back until it stays put. Wrists bending back on the angled grips: keep them in line with the forearms. Elbows rising past the shoulders: stop level with them.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale lowering.
