Dumbbell Sumo Squat (Back on Stability Ball Wall)

The wall squat with a stability ball behind the back in a wide, toes-out stance, a dumbbell in each hand.

How to do it

Setup

Ball at the lower back against the wall, feet wide, toes out, bells at the sides.

Steps

  1. Sit down as the ball rolls up the back.
  2. Keep the knees over the turned-out toes.
  3. Press up through the heels.

Common mistakes

Heels too close to the wall: step the feet forward and wide. Knees rolling in: they follow the toes. Leaning off the ball: keep the back pressed to it.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
