Dumbbell Standing Alternate Raise

Front raises in a seesaw: one bell rises as the other lowers, the arms passing at chest height.

How to do it

Setup

Stand tall, one bell held in front at shoulder height, the other at the thigh.

Steps

  1. Lower the high bell as the low one rises.
  2. Let the arms pass each other at chest height.
  3. Stop each bell at shoulder height and reverse.

Common mistakes

Speeding up into a swing: slow, even arcs. The body rocking with the arms: brace and stand still. Bells rising past the shoulders: shoulder height is the top.

Breathing

Steady with the rhythm.
