Dumbbell Standing Palms In Press
The standing press with the dumbbells held like hammers, palms facing each other from the shoulders to lockout.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet hip-width, dumbbells at the shoulders with the palms facing in, elbows pointing forward.
Steps
- Press both bells up without turning the palms.
- Lock out with the bells over the shoulders, a little apart.
- Lower to the shoulders, elbows pointing forward again.
Common mistakes
Leaning back as the bells rise: squeeze the glutes, ribs down. Turning the palms forward near the top: neutral all the way. Knocking the bells together overhead: finish them apart, each over its own shoulder.
Breathing
Exhale on the press, inhale lowering.
