EZ-Bar Standing Overhead Press
The standing overhead press with an EZ-bar; the angled grips turn the wrists slightly instead of setting them flat on a straight bar.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet hip-width, the EZ-bar at the collarbones, hands on the angled grips.
Steps
- Press the bar up, drawing the chin back as it passes the face.
- Finish locked out over the shoulders.
- Lower to the collarbones along the same line.
Common mistakes
Hands on the straight part of the bar: use the angled grips; they are the point. Bar drifting in front of the face: finish over the shoulders. Wrists bending back under the bar: knuckles up, wrists straight.
Breathing
Exhale on the press, inhale lowering.
