Dumbbell Underhand Front Raise

Both bells raised in front with the palms up; the underhand grip turns the arms out and brings in the biceps.

How to do it

Setup

Stand tall, bells in front of the thighs, palms facing forward, elbows soft.

Steps

  1. Raise both bells, palms up, to shoulder height.
  2. Hold the soft bend in the elbows fixed.
  3. Lower them slowly to the thighs, palms still up.

Common mistakes

Bending the elbows to help: the angle stays fixed; it is a raise. Palms turning down with fatigue: keep them up or end the set. Arching back at the top: ribs down, lighter bells.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
