Dumbbell Single-Arm Neutral-Grip Front Raise

The one-arm front raise with the thumb up; the bell stays upright from the thigh to shoulder height.

How to do it

Setup

Stand tall, one bell at the side of the thigh, palm facing in, free arm down.

Steps

  1. Raise the bell forward to shoulder height, thumb up.
  2. Keep the palm facing in through the whole arc.
  3. Lower it slowly back beside the thigh.

Common mistakes

Palm rolling down on the way up: the thumb leads to the top. Leaning away from the bell: stand tall, a lighter one. Swinging from the hip: a dead stop at the bottom.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
