Dumbbell Seated Single-Arm Front Raise

One bell raised thumb up from the end of a flat bench; with no back rest, the torso holds itself still.

How to do it

Setup

End of a flat bench, bell at the side palm in, free hand on the knee.

Steps

  1. Raise the bell forward to shoulder height, thumb up.
  2. Sit tall without leaning toward the free hand.
  3. Lower it slowly; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

Palm turning down on the way up: thumb up the whole arc. Leaning on the free hand: it only rests on the knee. Swinging the bell: a dead stop by the thigh.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
