Dumbbell Seated Front Raise

Both bells raised together from a bench with a back rest; the pad keeps the torso from leaning into the lift.

How to do it

Setup

Seated, back flat on an upright pad, feet planted, bells hanging at the sides.

Steps

  1. Raise both bells forward to shoulder height, knuckles up.
  2. Keep the back and head on the pad.
  3. Lower them slowly beside the seat.

Common mistakes

Back leaving the pad to start the lift: stay pinned, lighter bells. Elbows bending: long arms to the top. Dropping the bells into the next rep: a slow lowering, then a pause.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
