Dumbbell One-Arm Front Raise

Standing, one bell raised in front at a time; the lone weight tries to turn the torso, which stays square.

How to do it

Setup

Stand tall, one bell in front of the thigh, free arm at the side.

Steps

  1. Raise the straight arm forward to shoulder height.
  2. Keep the chest facing straight ahead.
  3. Lower slowly; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

Torso turning with the arm: square the chest, a lighter bell. Hip kick to start the rep: dead stop at the thigh. Shrugging the working shoulder: blade down, then raise.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
