Dumbbell Incline One-Arm Front Raise with Chest Support

Face down on an incline bench, raise one dumbbell forward; the pad stops any swing, and the free hand holds the bench.

How to do it

Setup

Chest on an incline bench, feet on the floor, one bell hanging straight down, the free hand on the bench.

Steps

  1. Raise the straight arm forward until it is parallel to the floor.
  2. Keep the chest on the pad; only the arm moves.
  3. Lower slowly back to the hang; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

Chest peeling off the pad: the support is the point; stay down. Swinging the bell up: start each rep from a still hang. Twisting toward the working arm: keep both shoulders square to the bench.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
