Dumbbell Alternate Front Raise

The dumbbell front raise one arm at a time, the other bell waiting at the thigh.

How to do it

Setup

Feet hip-width, bells resting on the front of the thighs, knuckles forward.

Steps

  1. Raise one bell with a straight arm to shoulder height.
  2. Lower it fully before the other arm starts.
  3. Keep the shoulders square as the sides switch.

Common mistakes

Twisting toward the raised arm: hips and shoulders stay square. Starting the other arm before the bell is down: finish one side first. Waiting arm drifting up: it rests at the thigh.

Breathing

Exhale on each raise, inhale lowering.
