Cable Single-Arm Neutral-Grip Front Raise

The one-arm cable front raise from a low pulley behind, the handle held thumb up instead of palm down.

How to do it

Setup

Back to the low pulley, handle in one hand beside the leg, palm facing in.

Steps

  1. Raise the straight arm to shoulder height, thumb up.
  2. Pause with the hand level with the shoulder.
  3. Return the hand to the thigh without letting the stack rest.

Common mistakes

Palm turning down as the arm rises: thumb up the whole way. Leaning forward against the pull: stand tall, a lighter stack. Elbow bending: the arm stays long to the top.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
