Dumbbell Low Windmill

The windmill with the dumbbell in the bottom hand instead of overhead: the free arm reaches up while the bell travels down the leg toward the floor.

How to do it

Setup

Dumbbell hanging in one hand, the other arm straight up, feet turned about 45° away from the raised arm.

Steps

  1. Push the hips toward the raised arm and hinge sideways.
  2. Lower the bell along the leg on its side toward the floor.
  3. Stand back up, the raised arm vertical and the eyes on the hand.

Common mistakes

Rounding down to reach the floor: go only as low as the hinge allows. Raised arm falling toward the head: keep it stacked over the shoulder. Chest twisting toward the floor: it stays open to the side.

Breathing

Inhale hinging down, exhale rising.
