Dumbbell Cuban Press
The Cuban press standing: an upright row, a turn of the forearms up and a press overhead, each rep through all three.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, dumbbells hanging in front of the thighs, palms facing back.
Steps
- Row the bells up until the elbows are level with the shoulders.
- Keep the elbows there and turn the forearms up until they are vertical.
- Press the bells overhead to straight arms.
- Reverse the three stages back to the thighs.
Common mistakes
Elbows dropping as the forearms turn: hold them level with the shoulders. Loading it like a press: the turn limits the weight; choose bells it can finish. Rushing the turn: rotate slowly at the top of the row.
Breathing
Exhale on the press, inhale lowering.
