Dumbbell Bicep Curl with Stork Stance

Balancing on one leg with the torso hinged forward and the free leg lifted behind, curl both dumbbells hanging below the shoulders; the stance turns the curl into a balance drill.

How to do it

Setup

Standing on one leg, knee soft, hinged forward until the torso is near parallel, the other leg lifted behind, bells hanging under the shoulders.

Steps

  1. Settle the balance on the standing leg.
  2. Curl both bells toward the shoulders, upper arms hanging still.
  3. Lower them slowly; switch the standing leg after the set.

Common mistakes

Rounding the back in the hinge: long spine, hinge at the hip. Standing up out of the hinge as the bells rise: hold the torso angle. Hips tipping open toward the lifted leg: keep them square to the floor.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
