Dumbbell Biceps Curl Squat

A squat with the dumbbells hanging at the sides, joined to a curl at the top of every rep; the legs and the arms share the set.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, feet shoulder-width, a dumbbell in each hand at the sides, palms forward.

Steps

  1. Squat down with the bells hanging, chest up.
  2. Drive up to standing and curl both bells to the shoulders.
  3. Lower the bells to the sides before the next squat.

Common mistakes

Bells swinging forward in the squat: they hang straight beside the legs. Heels lifting at the bottom: sit back and keep the whole foot down. Curling with a rounded back: stand fully tall before the bells rise.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale standing and curling.
