Diagonal Bend Hold
From a wide stance, fold diagonally toward one foot and let the arms hang there; the back of that leg and the far side of the trunk lengthen.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet wide apart, toes forward, knees soft, arms at the sides.
Steps
- Turn the chest toward one foot and fold down over it from the hips.
- Let the arms and the head hang and hold.
- Rise through the middle and fold toward the other foot.
Common mistakes
Locking the knees in the fold: keep them soft to spare the lower back. Reaching hard for the floor: let the weight of the arms take them down. Standing up fast between sides: rise slowly, head last.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
