Corner Wall Chest Stretch

One straight arm on the edge of a wall at shoulder height, the body turning away from it until the chest on that side stretches; held for time.

How to do it

Setup

Standing beside the edge of a wall, the near arm straight out at shoulder height with the palm on the edge, the other arm out to the side.

Steps

  1. Keep the wall hand fixed and the arm straight.
  2. Turn the chest slowly away from the wall until the front of the shoulder and the chest stretch.
  3. Hold and breathe, then switch sides.

Common mistakes

Wall hand sliding down: keep it at shoulder height. Shoulder rolling forward as you turn: draw the blade back and down. Turning until the shoulder pinches: back off to a stretch across the chest.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
