Clap Push-Up

Push hard enough to leave the floor and clap before landing; a power movement – stop the set when the height drops.

Clap Push-Up, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Standard push-up plank, hands ready to drive.

Steps

  1. Lower fast but controlled.
  2. Explode up until the hands leave the floor.
  3. Clap and land soft on bent elbows into the next rep.

Common mistakes

Landing on locked elbows: always into the bend. Clap rushing the landing: no clap beats a missed catch. Grinding reps past power: explosive sets end EARLY.

Breathing

Sharp exhale on the drive.
