Cable Thibaudeau Kayak Row
Holding a straight bar from a high pulley, pull one end of it down toward that hip like a kayak paddle stroke, then the other end to the other hip.
How to do it
Setup
Standing facing the high pulley, a straight bar held wide overhead on long arms, knees soft.
Steps
- Pull one end of the bar down toward that hip, arms nearly straight.
- Return the bar overhead with control.
- Pull the other end down to the other hip and keep alternating.
Common mistakes
Bending the elbows into a pulldown: the arms stay nearly straight, like a paddle. Twisting from the hips: brace the trunk and let the lats pull. Bar tilting in the hands: grip it wide and firmly.
Breathing
Exhale on each stroke, inhale returning.
