Cable Standing Back Wrist Curl
The behind-the-back wrist curl on a low pulley, a straight bar held in both hands behind the hips instead of a barbell.
How to do it
Setup
Back to a low pulley, a straight bar in both hands behind the hips, palms facing back, arms long.
Steps
- Let the bar roll the hands open at the bottom.
- Curl the bar up behind the hips by bending the wrists.
- Lower it slowly, the arms still straight.
Common mistakes
Standing too close to the stack: the cable goes slack at the bottom; step away. Shoulders shrugging up as the wrists tire: keep them down. Elbows bending to cheat the bar up: straight arms, lighter load.
Breathing
Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
