Dumbbell Behind Back Finger Curl

The behind-the-back finger curl with a dumbbell in each hand; each hand rolls its own handle from the fingertips back into the palm.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, a dumbbell in each hand behind the thighs, handles across the fingers, palms facing back.

Steps

  1. Let the handles slide down to the fingertips.
  2. Curl the fingers to draw them back into the palms.
  3. Squeeze the fist shut for a moment at the top.

Common mistakes

Bells turning in the fingers: keep the handles level. Bending the elbows to help: arms stay long. Opening so far the bell falls: keep the tips hooked around the handle.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
