BOSU Ball Balance Counterbalanced Skater Squat
The skater squat standing on the dome of a BOSU ball, arms reaching forward as the counterweight; the soft dome adds a balance fight to every rep.
How to do it
Setup
One foot in the middle of the dome, the other knee bent behind, arms relaxed at the sides.
Steps
- Reach both arms forward as the standing knee bends.
- Lower until the back knee nears the floor behind the dome.
- Stand up and steady the dome before the next rep.
Common mistakes
Knee wobbling in and out on the dome: slow down until it tracks over the toes. Arms staying down: they are the counterweight; reach them forward. Stepping the back foot down to save a rep: master the skater squat on the floor first.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale up.
