Bodyweight Heel Elevated Squat
The bodyweight squat with the heels on a wedge; the knees travel further forward and the thighs take more.
How to do it
Setup
Heels on a wedge or plate, feet hip-width, hands clasped at the chest.
Steps
- Squat straight down as deep as control allows.
- Let the knees travel over the toes, chest tall.
- Stand up fully, heels on the wedge.
Common mistakes
Heels sliding off the wedge: set the feet first. Sitting back as in a regular squat: the raised heels let you sink straight down. Knees caving at the bottom: push them over the toes.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale up.
